Melissa Lin is a parner at Righi Law Group. Her current practice includes the representation of individuals, contractors, businesses, and municipalities in tort and contract litigation, primarily in the areas of general liability, construction defects, complex litigation, general liability, personal injury, and product liability. She works closely with insurance adjusters and clients to develop the best defense and trial strategy while minimizing litigation expenses. She prides herself on the early evaluation of cases for creative and early case settlement and resolution. As a result of her hard work and successful defense practice, she was honored as a 2012 and 2013 Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Star, and is a Martindale Hubbell AV rated litigation attorney. She was named to Lawyers of Color's 2013 Inaugural Hot List for the Western Region, and was also named as one of the top valley attorneys in the October/November issue of North Valley magazine. She received her J.D. and B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona. She is a DRI Diversity and Women in the Law committee member and has co-authored articles on Mentoring and Rainmaking Essentials. She was elected the 2012-2013 Treasurer and 2011-2012 Secretary for the Arizona State Bar YLD. She was also elected and re-elected as a 2008-2010 and 2010-2011 YLD District 4 Representative for the State Bar of Arizona. She co-chaired the 2009 and 2010 Maricopa County Holiday Party Committee for foster children. She serves on the board of the Maricopa County Bar Association Litigation and Construction Law Sections and was the 2010-2012 chair and 2009-2010 vice-chair of the Construction Law Section. She has served on the board of the Arizona Asian American Bar Association (AAABA) since 2011. She has been involved with the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel (AADC) since 2007 and was the 2009-2011 vice president and board member of the AADC YLD. She is a member of the Arizona Women's Law Association (AWLA. She was a 2008-2012 board member of the Women's Metropolitan Arts Council (WoMAC) of the Phoenix Art Museum. She previously served as the 2010-2011 president, 2009-2010 vice president of membership and the 2008-2009 secretary for WoMAC. She was honored as the December 2011 Volunteer of the Month by the Phoenix Art Museum. Prior to moving to Phoenix, she received the 2006 Pro Bono Service Award from Community Legal Services in Mohave County.
