Peter Montecuollo focuses his practice in commercial litigation, including intellectual property litigation, professional responsibility and lawyering matters, and securities litigation.

Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation. Peter has experience litigating patent infringement, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, trade dress infringement, trade secret misappropriation, defamation, and unfair competition claims. Peter also has experience litigating cases involving liability for internet communications, including defending website operators against claims based on statements made by third parties. In connection with his intellectual property and technology litigation practice, Peter has represented a wide variety of companies in a range of industries.

Professional Responsibility and Lawyering. Peter’s professional responsibility and lawyering experience includes defending attorneys against legal malpractice claims, court-imposed sanctions, and disciplinary complaints. Other aspects of Peter’s professional responsibility experience include defending corporate directors and officers against a variety of claims, such as mismanagement of corporate assets, fraud, and corporate indemnification.

Commercial Litigation Generally. Peter’s experience includes litigating cases involving breach of contract, business torts, corporate governance, financial institution liability, fraud, misrepresentation, and tortious interference with business contracts.
