Gray Ellis is the sole member manager of Ellis Family Law in Durham, North Carolina. Since 1994 Attorney Ellis has devoted his career to working with families in crisis. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law as designated by the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization, practicing at both the trial and appellate court levels. Mr. Ellis has served as a member of the North Carolina State Bar Family Law Membership Committee and as the first chair of the Modern Family Committee. Mr. Ellis has lectured at various family law CLEs, taught at NCCU School of Law Evening Program and volunteered as a guest lecturer at UNC School of Women and Gender Studies and Duke University School of Law. His accolades include Super Lawyers designations, AVVO Client Distinction Awards, Charlotte Magazine's North Carolina's Top Lawyers 2016, North Carolina Business Magazine's Legal Edit from 2015-present, and Martindale-Hubbell's AV Preeminent Rating 2015-present, and the firm has won Durham Magazine's Best Lawyers in Durham for 2014 and 2015 and Indy Weekly's Best Law Firm in the Triangle for 2015. He is also a parent who has gone through a separation and understands first-hand the fears and uncertainties involved with the legal process. He brings that experience to the table every time he meets and advises a client. When he can get away to recharge Attorney Ellis enjoys tennis, golf, traveling, watching ACC sporting events, and water activities such as jet skiing and parasailing.
