Brett Halperin is currently an associate at Cole, Scott, and Kissane, P.A. Mr. Halperin attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law on multiple merit-based scholarships. While at UF Law, Mr. Halperin was nominated and confirmed as an Associate Justice for the University of Florida Supreme Court; a position that he occupied until his graduation. Additionally Mr. Halperin was tapped as a member of the University of Florida's most prestigious honorary society Florida Blue Key. He also served on the executive board for the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, was a Student Ambassador, a member of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and accumulated over 100 pro-bono hours. Mr. Halperin joined the firm after clerking for the Honorable John W. Thornton Jr. in the Complex Business Litigation Division of the 11th Judicial Circuit Court in Miami. While in law school he gained experience in the fields of personal injury, maritime, medical malpractice, and consumer protection.
Mr. Halperin's work focuses on legal research and writing, pretrial discovery matters, hearing and deposition preparation, and insurance defense litigation.
