Biography

Mr. Sonnicksen earned his B.A. degree from Indiana University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco.

Mr. Sonnicksen has experience working for the San Francisco Office of the Public Defender and extensive experience working for several workers’ compensation law firms prior to joining the Law Office of Mark Gearheart, including stints with Haworth Bradshaw in San Jose and Hanna & Brophy in Oakland. He also worked with Pegnim & Ivancich in Antioch.

Mr. Sonnicksen is certified by the State Bar as a Specialist in Workers’ Compensation, and serves as a Judge Pro Tempore at the Oakland Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. He is currently Vice President of the East Bay Chapter of the California Applicant’s Attorneys’ Association and is a regular speaker at CAAA and State Bar programs on Workers’ Compensation law. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar Workers’ Compensation Section.
