Laura S. Nelson is a member of the Samuels Yoelin Kantor Estate Planning team, and an associate at the firm. She finds her passion helping people, by providing representation and keen insight for matters regarding estate planning, estate and trust administration, and guardianships. Nelson understands that life transitions can be difficult. She believes in helping her clients plan for the future, to better navigate those often unforeseen events. She is licensed to serve clients in both Oregon and Washington.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Laura has gained diverse academic and life experience stemming across the continental United States and Canada. Laura approaches each client’s individual needs through a unique lens, using skills she gained through Psychology and Sociology studies. After graduating from the Lewis and Clark School of Law in 2013, Laura secured a judicial clerkship at the Multnomah County Circuit court with the Honorable Susan M. Svetkey. From there, Laura launched her legal career at Landerholm, serving estate planning, estate and trust administration, and guardianship clients.
Laura is a member of the board of CDM Caregiving Services–a nonprofit organization providing in-home care for the elderly and the disabled, as well as those with dementia or who have suffered traumatic brain injury.
When not in the office or volunteering her time, Laura enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling. Laura also loves spending time with her family, and is the proud auntie of three nieces and four nephews.
