Mark J. Kimbrell

Mark J. Kimbrell: Attorney with Janet Hoffman & Associates LLC

Biography

Mark Kimbrell joined our firm after a clerkship with the Honorable Judge Rebecca A. Duncan at the Oregon Court of Appeals. During his two years at the Court of Appeals, he researched and drafted opinions on a wide range of legal issues and developed a particular proficiency with Oregon criminal law.
Mark enjoys simplifying complex concepts, and he is a practiced legal researcher and writer. He uses these skills to effectively defend the rights of his clients.

Mark attended Lewis & Clark Law School on a Dean’s Scholarship for Excellence. While at Lewis & Clark, he received the Roosevelt Robinson Minority Scholarship and he served as the Notes and Comments Editor for the Environmental Law Review. He went on to graduate summa cum laude.

As a law student, Mark obtained valuable criminal defense experience at both the trial and appellate level. He drafted appellate briefs and habeas corpus petitions on behalf of inmates while clerking for the Federal Public Defender for the District of Oregon, and he tried cases in Washington County as a certified law student at the Metropolitan Public Defenders.

Mark is a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Federal Bar Association, Multnomah Bar Association, and the Oregon Hispanic Bar Association. His writing regarding the constitutional rights of juveniles facing prosecution has been published in the Willamette Law Review.
