Mr. Bateman practices in the areas of business and commercial real estate law. He represents privately-owned businesses ranging in size from small start-ups to middle market companies, including both for-profit and non-profit organizations, and across a number of industries. He regularly advises business owners and executives on a wide range of matters, including business entity selection and formation, governance, contract and lease negotiation, data security, intellectual property rights, debt and equity financing, and mergers and acquisitions. He also advises clients with regard to various commercial real estate matters, including the purchase and sale, leasing, and financing of commercial property.
Mr. Bateman received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School with a concentration in business law and financial services, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Colby College, with honors. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Bateman was a Senior Associate with a Boston-area investment banking firm, where he advised clients on sell-side mergers and acquisitions transactions across a number of verticals within the healthcare services industry.
