The firm's diverse litigation practice includes complex commercial and construction litigation and business ownership at both the trial and appellate courts in the state and federal courts.

EGH's extensive governmental affairs practice includes representation of clients in the North Carolina General Assembly and before local governing boards, as well as legal representation and strategic planning services for nonprofit organizations, trade associations, public-private partnerships and advocacy groups concerned with public education, biotechnology, biofuels and aquaculture. EGH also handles administrative matters before a variety of local and state regulatory agencies, including occupational licensing boards.

EGH represents individuals and their families in personal injury and wrongful death matters throughout North Carolina.

EGH's bankruptcy practice includes the representation of creditors in business reorganizations and work-outs and the prosecution and defense of bankruptcy-related litigation, including adversary proceedings.

The firm's business and estate planning practice provides clients with counsel on a wide variety of issues related to business planning and business succession, acquisition and sale of businesses, real property tax valuations and estate planning.
