Since his admission to the North Carolina Bar in 2012, John’s practice has included a broad range of civil matters in state and federal courts, including professional liability defense, commercial and business litigation, mass plaintiff tort litigation, general liability defense, and insurance coverage matters.
His litigation practice also includes the investigation and analysis of unexpected outcomes on behalf of hospitals and medical practices before suit is filed, and counseling clients regarding potential exposure and litigation avoidance. Mr. Ward is active in state and local bar organizations and serves on several committees of the North Carolina and Wake County Bar Associations. He also remains involved with the University of North Carolina School of Law where he acts as a mentor as part of the school’s Leadership Development Program. Prior to joining Yates, McLamb & Weyher in 2012, Mr. Ward worked as a legal intern at the Alamance County District Attorney’s office and clerked at Yates, McLamb & Weyher and the Van Winkle Law Firm.
