Javier J. Diaz is an Associate at Keefe Bartels law firm. Javier is a first-generation American with a passion to help others. His work focuses on persuasive advocacy and developing creative strategies to ensure the best outcome for his clients. He joins the firm with a unique set of valuable experiences and qualities that set him apart from other advocates.
Before joining Keefe Bartels, Javier successfully represented clients in the State and Federal courts of New York and New Jersey through the Southern District of New York Office of Pro Se Litigants and the Center for Social Justice Immigrants’ Rights and International Human Rights Clinic. He also presented numerous oral motions on behalf of indigent clients in criminal court. Additionally, he interned for Nationwide Insurance, where he gained experience in pretrial preparation and insurance defense litigation. Javier’s experience in both plaintiff and defense litigation give him a distinct perspective on motion practice, settlement and trial strategies.
While in law school, Javier served as a law student liaison for the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey for the 2013-2014 term. In 2014, he was recognized by his peers and awarded the Hazard Zet Forward Award for most embodying the spirit of Seton Hall University School of Law through extracurricular activities such as community service, community outreach, and social endeavors.
Outside of his legal work, you can find Javier enjoying the outdoors – fishing, snowboarding or simply enjoying nature at a local park. As a past collegiate baseball player, Javier appreciates and enjoys watching all types of sports. He is also a passionate salsa dancer. Javier considers himself a weekend warrior – taking on home improvement projects with his friends and family.
