Melissa Markiewicz

Melissa Markiewicz: Attorney with Golightly Mulligan & Morgan PLC

Biography

Melissa received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. Melissa spent most of her life in Northern Virginia (Fairfax County) but relocated her family to Central Virginia in 2007 in search of a calmer lifestyle. She has over 20 years of legal experience in the health insurance and financial services industries.

During her 12 years in the financial services industry, Melissa saw many situations where estate planning was either non-existent or had gone terribly wrong, leaving family members to resolve difficult issues. Lawyers and courts often had to get involved, creating extra expense and stress for everyone. This experience made her realize how crucial proper estate planning is, and she is excited to focus the next stage of her career on helping people create estate plans that will give them and their families peace of mind.
