Ms. Lewis represents clients in a variety of industries and technology sectors, including software, computer hardware, biotechnology, communications, and pharmaceuticals. She has successfully closed deals that range from straight-forward confidentiality agreements to complex asset transfer and license agreements involving multi-million dollar portfolios. Ms. Lewis is experienced in drafting and negotiating virtually all forms of technology agreements, including: Patent, trademark, and copyright license agreements Software license agreements (proprietary, open source, and SaaS) Software development agreements Joint development agreements Manufacturing and OEM agreements Website terms and conditions and privacy policies IP asset transfer agreements (purchase, sale, and assignment) In addition, Ms. Lewis regularly assists clients in developing and optimizing their IP portfolios, conducting IP due diligence investigations, and implementing IP risk management strategies. Ms. Lewis has also successfully represented clients in lawsuits relating to patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, and Lanham Act claims. Her litigation experience informs her transactional work, providing added insight that can help clients navigate deals and avoid litigation triggers. Ms. Lewis is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney, and has been certified as a licensing professional by the Licensing Executives Society. Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Ms. Lewis was a non-equity shareholder with a boutique intellectual property law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah, during which time she co-taught law school courses on Patent Litigation and Client Counseling.
