Biography

Adrian Senyszyn joined MehaffyWeber in 2019 and brings with him extensive experience in the area of cybersecurity. Much of his cybersecurity practice involves the health care sector, where he has represented clients suffering catastrophic breach events affecting as many as 55,000 people. Mr. Senyszyn routinely leads practices through the notification process and represents practices being investigated by the Office of Civil Rights, Department of Health and Human Services, and Texas Medical Board.

Mr. Senyszyn also routinely provides legal advice and education to entities on issues related to privacy and security rules, cyber risk management and mitigation, policies and procedures, data loss and prevention, audit controls, and risk management plans. He regularly coordinates with computer forensic companies and prepares risk assessments related to potential breaches of protected health information. As the number of cyber-related incidents has risen, Mr. Senyszyn has worked with insurance companies and health care professionals to manage risk, and he has lectured on various risk management and breach notification topics.

In addition to his cybersecurity practice, Mr. Senyszyn also represents general contractors and subcontractors in construction defect litigation throughout Texas. He has extensive experience litigating construction defect cases involving schools located in South Texas and along the Texas Rio Grande Valley. He has represented a wide variety of trades to include standing seam roof subcontractors, damp proofing subcontractors, dry wall subcontractors, flooring subcontractors, electricians, concrete subcontractors, and ornamental steel subcontractors.

Mr. Senyszyn also has litigation and trial experience in a wide variety of cases including medical malpractice, dental malpractice, premises liability, personal injury, contract disputes, and deceptive trade practices. Additionally, he advises clients about selected issues involving business transactions, construction agreements and liens, professional agreements, insurance coverage, and corporate structure.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Senyszyn attended the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with his B.B.A. in finance in 2000. Upon graduation, he began working in the risk management and security sector. He eventually worked at the U.S. Department of State where he evaluated geopolitical and international security information related to the American private sector.

After several years, Mr. Senyszyn attended St. Mary’s University School of Law on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. During his time in law school, he was very active in student organizations and served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable W. Royal Furgeson and the Honorable Ronald B. King. He also received the Judge Jack B. Miller Award in 2007 for his dedication to advocacy, and he was inducted into the Order of Barristers. After graduation from law school, Mr. Senyszyn joined Brin & Brin, P.C. where he focused his practice on privacy and security, administrative law, and construction defect litigation.
