The focus of Dawn Finlayson's practice is employment law, and her expertise is highly regarded in San Antonio and throughout Texas. Board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, she has been in private practice with large San Antonio firms for over twenty-five years. She has also served as an in-house attorney for a large corporation for over four years. An accomplished litigator, she has taken numerous complex and document intensive cases through trial to verdict. She has represented all types of business entities, including large, publicly held companies, large and small, private corporations-both established and newly formed-and various types of governmental entities. She has appeared before every level of state and federal court, including the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Finlayson is the author of numerous articles and papers on substantive legal issues. She has lectured on advanced litigation for the State Bar of Texas, The University of Texas and numerous other groups which devote resources to the education of licensed attorneys.
When she began her law career over 30 years ago, Ms. Finlayson was selected to serve as special law clerk to the Honorable W. S. Sessions. She also served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas.
Ms. Finlayson is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the San Antonio Bar Association. She holds degrees from St. Mary's University School of Law (J.D. 1978) and The University of Texas at Austin (B.A. 1974).
