Thelma Rivera is a Capital Member of the Firm and member of the Corporate and Banking Law Department. Ms. Rivera, concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, asset securitization, and commercial lending transactions and real estate law. She also has extensive experience in contract work and in municipal bond issues, acting at times as bond counsel and others as counsel to the underwriter, the borrower or the letter of credit bank. Her work has led her to deal with transactions involving shopping centers, hotels and related tourism facilities, public utilities and infrastructure, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturing facilities, residential and commercial construction projects, sales and distribution companies, among others.
Ms. Rivera also has extensive experience in real estate matters and has assisted banks and borrowers in the structuring and creation of real estate mortgages and other liens as part of the collateral for the loan.
