He was also the only student selected to co-teach Practicum, a foundational course offered to first-year law students, during his second year of law school, and worked with the UNM Tax Law Club to significantly expand a program offering free tax preparation to community members.

Personal: Sam was born in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico, and raised in El Rito. He is married to Mary Massey Wolf and is the proud father of a young son. Sam enjoys hiking, horseback riding, photography, and international travel.
