Jonathan Holtz is a commercial litigator with a focus on professional liability claims involving licensed professionals, including accountants, attorneys, architects, engineers, and real estate and insurance professionals. Jonathan also represents clients in investigations by federal, state and local agencies, as well as arbitration, mediation, negotiation, business planning and dispute resolution. He provides pre-litigation risk management services to clients to avoid extensive and costly litigation. In addition to defending professionals, Jonathan represents and counsels business owners and companies, as both plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide range of complex commercial litigation, transactions, contract issues, employment issues, and other general business law matters.
In defending legal malpractice claims, Jonathan has successfully defended attorneys in a wide range of underlying matters, including matrimonial, residential and commercial real estate transactions, personal injury, estates and trusts administration and planning, and commercial litigation cases.
In defending accounting malpractice claims, Jonathan has successfully defended accountants in a wide range of attestation services, tax, audit, consulting and expert services. Jonathan represents accountants in investigations by federal, state and local agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service and the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy.
Jonathan has been certified as an emergency medical technician and was a former volunteer first responder with the Tuckahoe Volunteer First Aid Squad. Jonathan served as law clerk to the Honorable Alfonse J. Cifelli, J.S.C., New Jersey Superior Court, Essex County, Law Division, where he was certified in mediation and conciliation.
