Sonia M. Phanse is a Pittsburg native. Sonia’s practice focuses, commercial secured and
unsecured lending, state and federal taxation and estate planning. Sonia
also assists clients with complex business transactions, entity formation,
mergers and acquisitions, employment and operating agreements and trademark
Sonia specializes in complex secured and mezzanine
financing transactions and associated business formation and planning.
Sonia also works on organizing and structuring joint venture relationships in a
variety of different industries, including transactions involving limited
liability companies, corporations and partnerships, and the preparation of
operating agreements, partnership agreements, shareholder agreements and
related employment contracts for large and small business - from start-ups to
established institutional clients and publicly traded entities.
Sonia’s annual transaction volume regularly exceeds
$250,000,000 a year, and her experience includes highly complex real estate and
business acquisitions, asset-based and unsecured financing and debt
restructuring. Sonia's full service estate planning practice includes the
preparation of revocable and irrevocable wills and trusts, durable powers of
attorney, health care powers of attorney and living wills, life insurance
trusts, charitable trusts, succession plans for closely held businesses, family
limited partnerships and minor's trusts.
Sonia is a Partner at Chester &
Shein and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from the
University of Southern California in 2000. She graduated from Golden Gate
University School of Law in 2004 and earned her LL.M. in taxation from Golden
Gate University in 2005. Sonia has been recognized as a Rising Star in the area
