  • The Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA 2006) made sweeping changes to the laws governing employee benefit plans, including adding new diversification requirements for most tax-qualified defined contribution plans holding publicly traded employer securities. The new diversification requirements take effect as early as January 1, 2007, and certain employers must provide plan participants with advanced notice of the new diversification requirements.
