  • The Securities and Exchange Commission has adopted final rules to implement Section 307 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (the "Act"). The new rules become effective August 5, 2003 (the "Rules") and establish minimum standards of professional conduct for attorneys who appear or practice before the SEC on behalf of issuers. However, the SEC deferred action on the previously proposed "noisy withdrawal" provisions.
