Biography

MITCHELL BIRZON is the founding partner of BIRZON, STRANG & ASSOCIATES, a specialty law firm located in Smithtown, New York with a satellite office located in Jericho, New York (Nassau County) and New York City (Manhattan). Mr. Birzon is a graduate of Georgetown University and the New England School of Law. After serving as an attorney in the United States House of Representatives and as senior federal legal Counsel to Governor Mario M. Cuomo (New York) in Washington, D.C., he returned to his native New York for the purposes of creating a private practice. Mr. Birzon specializes in corporate, commercial, healthcare and transactional law including mergers and acquisitions and private equity financing opportunities for upstart and existing business enterprises and healthcare practices and facilities. Historically, Mr. Birzon has served as a Board of Director of the Gurwin Geriatric Center, Long Island Adolescent and Family League Services, Syosset Senior Daycare Center, and Parent's for Megan's Law. In addition to the above, Mr. Birzon has been Chairman of the Suffolk County Bar Association's Health and Hospital Law Committee for three separate calendar years, has been appointed to and has been a member of the Grievance Committee, and serves as counsel to other members of the legal profession. In January of 2011, Mr. Birzon was appointed to the New York State Bar Association's Task Force. Mr. Birzon was included in the 2011 "New York Super Lawyers", of which only 5% of lawyers in each state are selected. The firm has adopted and maintains a policy whereby the partners of the firm remain dedicated to and participate in each and every aspect of each client's concerns. Unlike other firms, while the firm has had numerous opportunities to grow, it has enhanced its client base dramatically while maintaining an intimate and personal relationship with it's clients.
