In addition to his M&A practice, Mr. Clements has structured and negotiated major commercial contracts including tolling agreements, technology transfer agreements, technical assistance agreements, equipment installation agreements, mineral rights leases and sales agreements, real estate sales and exchange agreements, financing agreements, patent and know-how license agreements, construction agreements, commercial real estate leases and raw material supply agreements. The industries in which he has concentrated his practice include chemical, steel, coal, power, and environmental.

Educational Background

He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received his B.A. in 1969 and his J.D. in 1972. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review.

Business Background

For many years, Mr. Clements has been a member of Boards of Directors of both profit and non-profit entities in a variety of industries, including energy, chemical, railroad, healthcare, environmental and technology. He currently is a member of the Board of a major local hospital, having served as its Vice Chairman and Chairman for a ten-year period. He is currently a member of the Pittsburgh Opera Board and the Pittsburgh Catholic Publishing Associates. His past Board membership includes serving on the Boards of DelRay Connecting Railroad, Strategic Energy, Ltd., Peak Sulfur, Inc., (a Chemical Company with operations in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Wyoming), Peak Lime Company (a lime company with operations in Alabama), the National Environmental Technology Application Corporation, the Center for Hazardous Materials Research and the Holy Family Institute.
