Matt Carson has a diverse practice representing clients in the areas of education law, police liability, civil rights, constitutional law, and casualty defense matters in state and federal court.
As part of his education law practice, Matt regularly advises public school boards on a broad range of legal issues. Matt also counsels charter schools and private schools in Florida, and represents their interests before the Department of Education and in hearings before the Division of Administrative Hearings.
A significant part of Matt's practice includes defending law enforcement agencies throughout Florida in complex use-of-force, wrongful death, false arrest, and civil rights actions.
He also regularly represents public and private sector employers in lawsuits involving claims of discrimination, harassment, whistle-blower violations, wrongful termination, and retaliation.
Matt has served as lead counsel and obtained defense verdicts in trials involving whistle-blower retaliation claims, contract disputes, and breach of warranty claims, and as co-counsel in trials involving and public records enforcement actions and breach of warranty claims.
He also represents clients in appellate matters. Matt has successfully handled appeals involving casualty defense and employment issues.
