Biography

Charlie built his legal practice on the notion that lawyers are essentially specialized, professional writers who use words to advocate the interests of their clients in the context of the substantive law and applicable procedures. In his early career, Charlie worked in various capacities for newspapers and other publications, including as a reporter. Charlie graduated from the Creative Writing Program in the Department of English at Florida State University and has continued to study the art of writing throughout his life.

Charlie graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1987. Upon graduation, Charlie was honored to serve a judicial clerkship with the Honorable William Terrell Hodges in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Charlie joined the firm in 1990.

Charlie is currently the Managing Partner of the firm.

Experienced litigator

As an attorney in a busy but small litigation department within a highly sophisticated business law firm, Charlie has handled lawsuits in nearly every imaginable area of commercial litigation in state and federal courts and in administrative forums. In his more than 20 years with the firm, Charlie has successfully handled:

Charlie has also handled numerous appeals, including appeals to the Second and Fifth District Courts of Appeal, and to the Eleventh and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Charlie is active in his church and in numerous charitable organizations and endeavors. He lives in South Tampa with his wife, Becky, and their three children.
