Chris Codling is a native of the Tampa Bay area. After graduating from high school, Chris attended and played football at Florida State University and was a member of the 1993 National Championship team. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Chris attended law school at the University of Florida where he also served as an intern for some of the best trial lawyers in the State of Florida.
Following his graduation from law school, Chris served as an Assistant State Attorney for Hernando and Hillsborough County. While serving as a prosecutor, Chris honed his trial skills and amassed over 85 jury trials. Before joining Givens, Givens, & Sparks Chris worked at one of the largest and top insurance defense firms in the State of Florida where he practiced in the firm's litigation department defending law suits which included wrongful death, nursing home abuse, and commercial litigation.
In 2012, Chris joined Givens, Givens & Sparks teaming up with Robert Sparks his former trial partner at the State Attorney's Office. Chris has amassed an impressive number of jury trials and has worked with some of the state's finest trial ATTORNEYS. With Givens, Givens & Sparks Chris serves as one of the lead trial attorneys representing victims and policyholders in all areas of litigation including personal injury, wrongful death, insurance claims and disputes, nursing home abuse and commercial litigation.Chris is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., which actively participates and supports the community through various service projects that promote men's health, education and voter registration initiatives; the George Edgecomb Bar Association; the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Florida Justice Association. Additionally Chris is an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoys the outdoors when not practicing trial law.
