Biography

Mr. Wilson is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. Only 1% of all Florida attorneys are Board Certified in Civil Trial Law. This accomplishment represents the highest level of expertise and specialization recognized by the Florida Bar in the area of Civil Trial Law. Mr. Wilson is also an AV Preeminent rated lawyer who has been practicing in both the private and public sectors since 1996. After spending several years representing homeowners in one of the largest sinkhole firms in the state, he opened Burnett Wilson Reeder with several of his colleagues in 2015 where much of his practice is devoted to construction litigation claims. He joined Marshall Thomas Burnett in 2011, where his area of focus centered largely on the prosecution of first property insurance disputes. Mr. Wilson has tried over 15 civil cases in both state and federal courts of Florida. Mr. Wilson also worked for eight years at a well-regarded Tampa law firm focusing his practice primarily on the defense of auto accident, premises liability and complex civil liability claims. Mr. Wilson has also prepared several appellate briefs in both State and Federal Court and has argued before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Wilson is also a former prosecutor, having tried over 70 criminal cases ranging from petit theft to first degree murder. Mr. Wilson was recognized in 2002 for his service to the community by RID (Remove Intoxicated Drivers), the oldest anti-DUI organization in the United States.
