  • Through the initiative process, California voters adopted the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known as Proposition 65. Proposition 65 prohibits any person, in the course of doing business, from knowingly and intentionally exposing any individual to a chemical known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity without giving a specified warning.
