  • Over the years, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has developed policy statements and industry guidelines with respect to the advertising of commercial air transportation. The following is a general overview of DOT's advertising policies. DOT expects U.S. and foreign airlines, tour operators, travel agencies or any party engaging in the sale of commercial passenger air transportation to act in accordance with these requirements.
