Ms. Waterkotte has established herself as one of the firm’s leading and most proficient attorneys in her practice areas of complex commercial litigation, education and financial services in Arizona and California. Patricia has experience in appellate work in both Arizona and California, including appellate briefs to the Ninth Circuit, Emergency Motions and mandamus relief. She has worked for Tucson Unified School District regarding the desegregation litigation and addresses legal issues involving all facets of district operations. Patricia's experience in environmental law includes enforcing compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), defending product manufacturers against claims under California's Proposition 65 (The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) and interfacing with the EPA in connection with investigation and cleanup activities following environmental contamination. She has experience in all aspects of intellectual property law and in a wide variety of negligence claims including premises liability and professional negligence.

She was recognized as a “future star” in Benchmark Litigation’s annual guide of the top attorneys in the United States, and was named one of Tucson’s 40 Under 40, an award recognizing leaders making an impact in the community with their professional and charitable work.
A graduate of University High School in Tucson, Waterkotte was among the first volunteer teen attorneys with Pima County Teen Court in 1995. She served as a congressional intern for Sen. John McCain, and earned her degree in Management Information Systems, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2005.
