Mr. Taskalos leverages his varied background to address complex issues for clients. As a registered patent agent, he drafts and prosecutes patent applications for clients in a wide range of technical disciplines, including satellite telecommunications, semiconductors, MEMS design and fabrication, pharmacology, payment networks, big data, and social media applications, among others. He also has experience in litigation matters, including patent portfolio analysis in the FRAND context. In addition, Mr. Taskalos provides strategic counseling and due diligence for corporate transactions, freedom-to-operate analysis, and portfolio management and valuation. Mr. Taskalos has experience preparing petitions and filings for inter partes review.
Prior to law school, Mr. Taskalos worked as a systems engineer for BAE Systems, Inc., where he designed and tested radio and power distribution systems, as well as assisted with project management and business development. While at BAE Systems, Mr. Taskalos also researched using a single wavelength for full-duplex laser communication, for which the team obtained a patent (United States Patent No. 8,417,125). During undergraduate study, he worked in both the electric utility industry and construction, and participated in a senior design project focused on the biomedical field.
