Sean Wissman represents clients on a wide variety of corporate transactions, including acquisition, finance and restructuring transactions and general corporate matters. Much of Sean’s practice at Eversheds Sutherland (US) has been focused on insurance matters, as he has represented insurance companies on mergers and acquisition, reinsurance, and other transactional matters.

Prior to joining the Washington, D.C. office of Eversheds Sutherland (US), Sean gained broad-based transactional experience in New York as an associate at a large, international law firm and a mid-sized firm.

Represented Willis Towers Watson, a global risk management, insurance brokerage and advisory company, in the sale of a portion of its program businesses to AmWINS.
Advised Nationwide in its acquisition of Jefferson National Financial Corporation.
Represented Sammons Financial Group in a warehousing financing transaction for its XXX and AXXX policies.
Represented Willis Towers Watson in the acquisition of its usage-based insurance (UBI) assets by Octo Telematics, the leading global provider of telematics for the auto insurance industry.
Represented Legal & General/Banner Life as group annuity contract provider in a large pension de-risking transaction with Philips Electronics.
Represented the shareholders of Maxum Group in its sale of Maxum Insurance Company and its affiliates to The Hartford.
Represented The Hartford in the strategic sale of its life insurance business to Prudential.
Represented Collateral Holdings, Inc. in its sale of Southland National Insurance Company to Global Bankers Insurance Group.
Counseled Genworth Financial, Inc. in various financial and reinsurance transactions.
