Brian earned his Bachelor's Degree from Texas Christian University in 1992, and then worked as a case investigator for Child Protective Services in the Fort Worth, Texas area. He graduated with honors from Duke University School of Law in 1997, and joined the U.S. Navy JAG Corps after passing the North Carolina Bar. An honor graduate of the Naval Justice School, Brian served five years on active duty as the only Navy officer in a Marine Corps legal detachment, where he successfully prosecuted and defended an unprecedented number of courts-martial, or military criminal cases. He was honorably discharged in 2010 at the rank of lieutenant commander (O-4).After leaving active duty, Brian remained a reservist for several years, defending a large number of Marines and sailors as a Navy Appellate Defense Counsel, while also maintaining civilian employment with a law firm in Dallas, Texas. He eventually returned to Fort Worth to accept a position as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney, where he continued to hone his skill as a trial lawyer. Now, he enjoys what he considers the pinnacle of a career of service - he is a civilian defense counsel with the education, training, experience, and skill to handle the toughest and most complicated military cases. The touchstone of his practice continues to be compassion and understanding for his clients. He is a frequent commentator on legal and military issues for Fox News Radio and other media outlets.
