John J. Massaro is the firm's senior consultant for insurance industry matters.
Mr. Massaro attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating magna cum laude, and earning a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations. He then went on to pursue his law degree at Union University, Albany Law School, and graduated sixth in his class. After law school, Mr. Massaro attended the Navy Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island. He served four years active duty as an attorney in the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps in Charleston, South Carolina and Washington, D.C. He then started an insurance company career that included service as Claims and Coverage Counsel for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company at its regional home office in Raleigh, North Carolina.; Assistant Vice President and Claims Attorney for Independent Insurance Company at its home office in Jacksonville, Florida; Assistant, and later Associate General Counsel for Prudential Insurance Company of America at its regional home offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Jacksonville, Florida; and Claims Manager for CNA/Caronia in its West Palm Beach office.
Mr. Massaro has managed claims and litigation throughout the United States, with particular emphasis on the Southeastern, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeastern areas of the Country. He previously served as legal editor of two monthly national newsletter publications, while associated with LRP Publications in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He regularly consults with the insurance industry on claims and management matters and supervises and coordinates multi-state representations for a number of insurance programs.
Mr. Massaro has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1982, and is admitted to practice in Florida, the before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Military Appeals.
