Mr. DeCost has acquired extensive experience managing and litigating cases from inception through trial before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and as a civil litigator in both state and federal courts within California including medical malpractice defense, complex civil and business litigation, defense of bad faith actions and real estate disputes.
Mr. DeCost served as in-house counsel with a nationally recognized corporation where he managed subrogation and reimbursement claims on behalf of the healthcare industry and workers' compensation insurers in all fifty states, while also personally managing litigation before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, Superior and Federal courts throughout California. He also co-authored an extensive compendium of legal issues concerning subrogation and reimbursement claims faced by both ERISA and non-ERISA qualified health care plans in each state and on the federal level.
Mr. DeCost was admitted to the California State Bar in 2000, and is a member of the ABA sections on International Law and Healthcare Law. He has worked as a marketing and advertising account executive in the entertainment industry and is a former authorized NFL contract representative. He has also served as a consultant for candidates running for state, local and federal elective office and is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants.
