Biography

Mr. Jones advises clients on a wide range of federal and state tax issues in the areas of corporate, partnership, international, and individual income tax, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and dissolutions, choice of entity considerations, executive compensation, and transactional matters. He has experience advising prominent entertainers and professional athletes regarding their activities around the world. His practice also includes the taxation of financial instruments, including debt and equity offerings of U.S. and non-U.S. companies.

Additionally, his practice includes corporate work related to the following: formation of business entities; mergers and acquisitions; and capital markets. Prior to joining Venable, Mr. Jones served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Geraldine Mund and Kathleen Thompson of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Mr. Jones speaks on important tax and business issues and is a regular contributor to several tax publications.
