Biography

Lane Thomas is a graduate of Loyola Law School (J.D., 1976) and an Honors Graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara (B.A. Cultural Anthropology, 1973). He worked as an associate attorney for Millikan and Hardy Law Corporation from 1977 to 1982. From 1982 to 1997 he was a partner in Millikan and Thomas. Since his former partner retired from the practice of law in 1997, Mr. Thomas has continued the practice as Lane J. Thomas, Attorney at Law.

Mr. Thomas has an active trial and transaction practice covering business litigation and transactions, construction disputes, mechanic's liens, contracts, corporations, debt collection and enforcement of judgments, family law, landlord/tenant, limited liability companies, partnerships, real estate transactions and litigation, boundary disputes, sales of businesses, and shareholder and partner disputes.

Lane has served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Northeast Division (Pasadena) of Los Angeles Superior Court. Since 1993 he has been a member of the Panel of Settlement Referees for the Los Angeles Superior Court North Central District (Glendale) Court Ordered Crash Settlement Program. Since 1996 he has served as an Arbitrator for the Los Angeles County Bar Association Dispute Resolution Services acting as an arbitrator for attorney-client fee disputes. Since 1998, Mr. Thomas has served as an arbitrator and mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program acting as a mediator and arbitrator for civil cases. In 2010, Mr. Thomas completed 48 hours of training with the Los Angeles County Bar Association Center for Civic Mediation which included 18 hours of training in advanced mediation skills.

Lane Thomas has had an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell (the highest such rating) for over 30 years.
