  • The long anticipated final regulation changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) go into effect August 20, 2004. Because there are many significant changes to the regulations which have not been substantially revised for 40 years, and the addition of a safe harbor for payroll deductions, this is an excellent time for employers to dust off their job descriptions and revisit certain white collar workers' exempt status. Cutting through the political rhetoric and correctly applying the new regulations will certainly present some challenges to employers.
