- On May 10, 2016, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to substantially increase School Impact Fees throughout the County, including all of the municipalities. The new rates will take effect in two steps: one-half of the increase to take effect on October 1, 2016 and the full amount of the increase to take effect on January 1, 2017. The table below shows the current rate and the increased rates:
10/1/16 Interim Rate
Single Family Detached
Townhomes are currently assessed at the multi-family rate even though they generate more students than apartments. The new School Impact Fee Ordinance establishes a new category for townhomes that more accurately reflects the number of students residing in townhome units.
