Alain Ricard practises mainly in the areas of banking law, financial services, corporate finance and commercial law. He represents borrowers and financial institutions in major financings involving individual lenders or lending groups, particularly in commercial credit transactions, syndicated loans, securitization and factoring transactions. He also has a solid background in project and structured financings and with respect to derivatives transactions.

· The lenders of Groupe Immobilier Santé McGill, s.e.n.c. in connection with the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC)
· Groupe Ovation (a subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc.) in connection with the Montreal acoustic concert hall PPP project
· The lenders of Nouvelle Autoroute 30, s.e.n.c. in connection with the
· $1.1-billion financing for the completion of Highway 30 to the southwest of Montréal
· Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in the Canadian restructuring of the $35-billion market for asset-backed commercial paper issued by non-bank-sponsored conduits
· Cirque du Soleil and its controlling shareholder in the creation of a strategic partnership with Istithmar World and Nakheel and the sale of a 20 per cent interest in Cirque du Soleil
· Laurentian Bank of Canada in connection with the securitization of certain residential real estate loans
· Domtar in connection with the securitization of its accounts receivable
· GE Capital Solutions in connection with various equipment financing transactions, including purchases and sales of portfolios of equipment financings
· BNP Paribas with respect to the creation and implementation of new financial products
