Alan Angelo joined Cooper Levenson as an associate in November 1995, becoming a partner in 2000, and concentrates his practice in the areas of Bankruptcy and Workout, Bank-related Litigation, Transactional Work, Commercial Litigation, Land Use and Collections. His national list of clients, both personal and commercial, includes casinos, banking institutions, Municipalities and credit card service industry entities. He has often been called on to serve as a liaison between his clients, their adversaries and, at times, the United States Attorney and FBI.
Alan joined the firm's Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights practice group in 1999. He co-authored the bankruptcy handbook titled, "Debt Recovery Under the New Bankruptcy Act: A Recovery Manual for The Workout Specialist in New Jersey" with Eric Browndorf in October, 2005. He has been instrumental in the department's growth and success over the past several years.
A graduate of Saint Joseph's University (B.S., 1981), and Thomas M. Cooley Law School (J.D., 1985), he was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1986. Alan is a member of the Atlantic County, Cumberland County and New Jersey State Bar Associations, as well as the Bankruptcy section of the American Bar Association. A longstanding supporter of local community and involvement, he is also a member of the South Jersey Italian-American Heritage Association, The American Legion in Minotola and regularly serves on advisory committees of the Cumberland County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, in addition to numerous other local volunteer activities.
Alan has been a member of the City of Vineland Zoning Board since the summer of 2006. He assisted the City with the implementation of its Master Plan which became effective September, 2006. A lifelong Vineland resident, he has served numerous local civic organizations in his home town.
