Biography

Chuck Rice focuses his practice on a full range of labor and employment law. Mr. Rice frequently advises employers on matters relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, workplace substance abuse programs, wage and hour issues, and work force reductions. He also works closely with clients in the development of effective personnel policies and practices and has assisted numerous employers in campaigns against union organizing efforts.

Mr. Rice has advised numerous companies on employment-related matters under California law, including drug and alcohol testing, wage and hour issues, leaves of absence, and plant closings.

In law school he served on the Editorial Board of the Georgia Law Review, which published his case comment. Mr. Rice is AV® rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

International reduction in force by a multinational beverage company, Represented a multinational beverage company in developing strategy and coordinating the work of foreign counsel for a global reduction in force affecting employees in more than 60 countries.

Union organizing campaigns at Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, Provided the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation with advice, assistance and representation before the National Labor Relations Board in connection with multiple, simultaneous union organizing campaigns at Foxwoods Resort Casino on a tribal reservation. The firm provided the client with an on-site team of lawyers to provide advice on communications with employees and the general public, bargaining unit composition, and federal jurisdiction over tribal labor relations.
