Daniel W. Rudy now serves of counsel (retired) in the South Bend, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP. He has served as chairman of the firm's Labor and Employment Law Department as well as being administrator of that department in the South Bend office.
Mr. Rudy concentrated his efforts in the traditional areas of labor law practice and had a special interest in advising management clients on union-related matters. These matters include union organizational campaigns, arbitration, the handling of unfair labor practice matters and union contract negotiations. In addition to providing leadership and guidance for the company negotiating team as part of the collective bargaining process, he has also developed computer-based programs to better assist the client in achieving operational and fiscal goals through the negotiation process. Mr. Rudy has been a frequent speaker at seminars, conferences and workshops for individual clients and associations on current labor law matters.
Mr. Rudy attended Purdue University where he received a B.S. in pharmacy in 1954. He served two years in the United States Army. He then earned his J.D. with distinction in 1961 from the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. He is presently a member of the Indiana State and St. Joseph County Bar Associations.
