DAVID BURKHOLDER is a Partner in the Birmingham office and a member of the firm's Litigation section. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Burkholder was a police officer in Billings, Montana where he served as a hostage negotiator and field training officer. Prior to attending Auburn University for undergraduate studies, David served in the United States Army with the 3rd Ranger Battalion and United Nations Command Joint Security Force South Korea, where he was on a counter-terrorist team for the 1988 Olympics.
David's practice consist of general litigation involving various issues such as personal injury, construction, banking, and trademark and trade secret litigation. David also participates annually as a counselor in the Youth Judicial Program sponsored by the Boy Scout Explorers and the Montgomery YMCA.
Construction Litigation:
David's construction law practice specializes in the areas of preparation and review of contracts, breaches of contract, bid mistakes, change order disputes and negotiations, payment disputes and delay claims. David has represented owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in the successful resolution of a host of substantial construction disputes and specializes in those involving underground directional drilling, the construction of automobile manufacturing facilities, and interstate pipeline projects.
