Dave Cannon practices in the areas of administrative law, state, federal and local liquor law and licensing and tax matters, commercial real estate and leasing, business permitting as well as hospitality and business transactions.
Dave and the Licensing Team have represented numerous national clients in the hotel, retail store, pharmaceutical industry and restaurant industry with state, local and federal licensing issues. His licensing experience also includes representation of commercial clients with product and label approval matters and civil enforcement issues before the NC ABC Commission.
He also has handled many tied house issues before the Commission including representation of brew pubs in connection with licensing and tied house concerns.
Active in the community, Dave has served in leadership roles with the Mecklenburg County Bar as an officer of the Bar, Chairman of the Finance Committee, Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee and on its Executive Committee. In addition, he has served at Myers Park United Methodist Church as Chair of its Administrative Board, on its Affordable Housing Committee and its Habitat for Humanity Committee.
Dave also spent three years active duty in the United States Navy, from 1970 to 1973.
