| Biography | David Greene is a partner in the firm's Litigation Practice Group, where he focuses on a wide spectrum of mass litigation/toxic torts cases, white-collar criminal defense, environmental litigation and counseling, energy regulatory advising, and project development and assists clients on risk management/corporate governance frameworks and decision-making processes. He also represents clients on nuclear fuel industry issues, health and safety matters, regulatory enforcement claims, internal/government corporate investigations, mergers and acquisitions, real estate/brownfield project development, and other types of environmental transactional issues. His experience with numerous clients in forums across the country, as well as his work experience and undergraduate technical background in geophysical engineering, geology, and mathematics, affords him familiarity with key, as well as burgeoning, issues across all environmental, health, and safety media, including waste, water, air, and climate change. Mr. Greene's corporate client mix runs the gamut from Fortune 100 companies to closely held and private small businesses. He is involved with all of the domestic, and several of the international, environmental matters for one of the world's largest international engineering conglomerates. In that capacity, he assists the organization with both hazardous and nuclear material site cleanups as well as helps to minimize potential mass tort claims associated with worldwide distribution of its products and services. Mr. Greene also aided an international metals company with a complex, multiparty toxic tort suit that resulted in an extremely favorable outcome for the client. He has proactively counseled many large companies on how to minimize risk exposure in connection with new acquisitions, including the training of personnel on environmental, health, and safety policies; accountability; sustainability; and corporate ethics. His experience further extends to representing clients in numerous criminal defense matters throughout the United States, including negotiations with federal and state authorities, as well as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Suspension and Debarment Division. Mr. Greene has published books/articles and given presentations to industry and client groups on a host of environmental, health, and safety topics, including environmental management systems, corporate planning/governance, sustainability, and carbon emissions reductions and global warming, in addition to practices and associated liability with respect to public disclosures and reporting/self-auditing and disclosure obligations. Prior to joining Robinson & Cole, Mr. Greene was a partner at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae and, later, Dewey & LeBoeuf.
