Ms. Kistemaker graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 1997. As an undergraduate, Ms. Kistemaker was a proud member of Florida Blue Key. She later attended the University of Miami School of Law where she graduated cum laude with her Juris Doctor. In law school, Ms. Kistemaker completed a judicial internship for the Honorable Stephen T. Brown of the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. She also contributed to Laurence B. Tribe's American Constitutional Law, Third Edition book while serving as a research assistant for Professor Patrick O. Gudridge. Upon graduation, Ms. Kistemaker worked as an Assistant State Attorney locally for the 7th judicial circuit. In 2001, Ms. Kistemaker moved to London, England to qualify as a solicitor and joined the Law Firm of Wragge & Co. (27th largest law firm in the United Kingdom) to pursue a career in International Law. In 2004, Ms. Kistemaker returned to Florida to be closer to her family and began working with the law firm of Carlton Fields within the Real Estate and Commercial Litigation Practice group's Miami office. It was at Carlton Fields that Ms. Kistemaker found a love for business and real estate law. Fortunately, in 2005, Ms. Kistemaker was able to relocate even closer to her family and began working as Associate General Counsel in-house for ICI Homes, one of the top 50 homebuilders and the largest private homebuilder in the nation. As Associate General Counsel, Ms. Kistemaker had the opportunity to advise on and participate in the structure, negotiation and execution of business, real estate, development, and construction objectives in support of the CEO and senior level executives. Additionally, Ms. Kistemaker established some of the largest homeowner associations and community development districts in the area. Since leaving ICI Homes, Ms. Kistemaker has continued to focus her legal practice on representing businesses and professionals, with an emphasis on representation of developers, contractors, community associations/CAMs, property management companies, and title companies all over central Florida. Additionally, Ms. Kistemaker has served as a Board Member for several community development districts and civic and community organizations, and is a graduate of the Leadership Ormond Beach Class II sponsored by the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce and remains active in several legal professional organizations, including the Volusia County Bar Association and the Florida Bar's Business, Real Property & Probate, and Construction sections.
