We counsel hospitals, physicians, long-term care providers and other health care organizations regarding corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and joint venture arrangements. We also provide clients with assistance in navigating the health care fraud and abuse laws, including the federal anti-kickback statute, the false claims act, the physician self-referral statute (also known as &quot;Stark&quot;), as well as the Medicare and Medicaid billing and reimbursement laws.</p> <p>We also represent our health care clients in litigation. We represent major health insurers and employers in federal and state courts in cases involving coverage issues, claims for health care benefits and subrogation. Those actions involve both ERISA and non-ERISA governed health care benefit plans and policies.</p> <p>Finally, we have considerable experience in the creation and development of employee health care benefit plans and advise health insurers in the development of practices and procedures for evaluating and processing health care benefit claims.</p>
