| Biography | James Nottingham is a member of the firm's Financial Institutions Department and the firm's Litigation Department. Mr. Nottingham's practice emphasizes commercial litigation related to financial institutions, real estate and construction. He focuses on issues involving credit unions, banks, creditor rights, bankruptcy law, construction law, landlord tenant law, mechanics' liens and debt collection. Mr. Nottingham performs transactional work and provides extensive litigation services in connection with his representation of a wide variety of businesses and financial institutions located both in the State of Colorado and throughout the United States. Mr. Nottingham has lectured on both bankruptcy law and collections law. Mr. Nottingham was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2001, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado in 2003 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 2009. He was named a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2010 and 2011. He is a member of the American, Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. Mr. Nottingham received his Juris Doctor degree in 2001 from the University of Denver College of Law, where he served as a staff editor on the Denver University Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Nottingham worked for a United States Senator in Washington, D.C. and for an advertising agency as a copywriter. Mr. Nottingham graduated from the University of Colorado in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. Mr. Nottingham currently serves on the Selection Committee for the Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance and on the Planning Committee for the National Brain Tumor Society. Mr. Nottingham was born in Denver, Colorado in 1974. |
