Biography

JEREMY L. RETHERFORD is a Partner with the firm and a member of the firm's Creditors Rights and Bankruptcy practice group as well as the firm's Litigation practice group. In his practice, Jeremy regularly represents lenders and other creditors in bankruptcy cases, adversary proceedings and litigation arising in both state and federal courts. This representation routinely involves judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, receiverships, DIP financing, fraudulent conveyance and preference litigation, loan work-outs, real property disputes and collection matters. Jeremy also represents contractors and subcontractors in the perfection and enforcement of materialman and mechanic liens as well as property owners in the defense of actions to perfect materialman and mechanic liens. In addition, Jeremy represents commercial landlords in landlord/tenant disputes as well homeowner associations and condominium associations in the collection of assessments.

Jeremy is a member of the Alabama State Bar and Mississippi State Bar. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Mississippi Law Journal and a member of the school's Moot Court team.

Jeremy also is a frequent speaker at seminars regarding landlord/tenant disputes, bankruptcy topics and foreclosure issues.

· Represent creditor in objection to dischargeability of debt

· Represent building material supplier in perfection and enforcement of materialman liens

· Represent asset-based lender in enforcement of security interest in collateral

· Represent creditor in wrongful repossession action

· Represent loan participant in loan participation agreement dispute
